“Saturday nights with my future Olympian. I think I finally found someone who likes practice more than I did.”
Brad Paisley is recalling what he described as his “proudest moment” as a parent.
The 53-year-old Grammy-winning country music singer sat down for an interview with Hoda Kotb on the “Today” show when he told a story about the time he opened for the Rolling Stones years ago.
The “Drive of Shame” artist saw an opportunity — and decided to roll with it.
“I said to Mick, 'I got this bar/recording studio on my farm in Nashville, it’s real secluded, you ought to come to town and we'll write, record and hang out,’” he said of Rolling Stones’ singer Mick Jagger.

Much to Paisley’s surprise, Jagger hit him up one month later and they set a date to meet up.
And it turned out to be a day he — and his son — would remember for the rest of their lives.
"One of my proudest moments, ever, is when Huck, my oldest, was probably 8 and we're sitting at my bar and I made Huck a Shirley Temple,” Paisley recalled.
"I made Mick something harder, and myself something and we're sitting around,” he said, “and Huck's just sitting there nursing his drink like he's Norm from Cheers, and here's Mick having a beer next to my son.”
That’s when his son, Huck, asked Jagger a question Paisley wasn’t prepared for.
"This is my proudest moment, but he [Huck] turns to Mick and says, 'Mick, was Muddy nice?' Mick says 'excuse me?' Then he says 'Muddy Waters, was he nice?'"

Muddy Waters was a legendary American blues musician, singer, and guitarist, often called the "Father of Modern Chicago Blues.”
Paisley wasn’t sure what was happening, but was happy to have witnessed the moment unfold.
“Yeah, yeah, he was great. He was so nice to us, he was a major influence on the Stones,” he recalled Jagger telling his son, to which Huck replied, “That’s cool, I always wondered.”
“That's the best moment I ever had as a parent,” Paisley gushed.

Brad Paisley’s family has grown up before everyone’s eyes.
The “Mud On The Tires” singer shares two sons — William "Huck" Huckleberry, born in 2007, and Jasper Warren, born in 2009 — with his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley, according to People.
The couple recently experienced a major parenting milestone when they sent Huck off to college for the first time.
“He’s really interested in visual art and storytelling,” Brad Paisley’s wife said in an interview with Parade, published Aug. 27. “He’s written a bunch of plays.”
And while their younger son was “looking forward to having the house to himself,” Williams was having a hard time accepting the fact that Huck would be gone.
But she had a fail-safe in mind.
“I have a note that Huck wrote me when he was like 7 or 8 years old,” Williams told the outlet. “His spelling is atrocious, and it’s written in pencil. It says, ‘Mom, come visit me in college, you promise?’”

“I’m getting it framed to give to him to put it on his wall in his dorm, so every time I show up, I can just refer to his signed testimony,” she added.
