Most of the world knows Jason Kelce for his career as a former center for the Philadelphia Eagles football team.
Julie Bowen is learning to trust and believe in her kids — even when they screw up.
During an interview with People at the Baby2Baby Gala on Nov. 8, the 55-year-old “Modern Family” actress was asked to share what her three kids have taught her now that they’re well into their teens.
She took a moment to think, but ultimately settled on this gem of a response.
"Believe in them. I like to micromanage and check everything, and that's not good for the relationships," she told the outlet.

"It's good to remind them that no matter what, no matter how many things they've effed up on that week, that month, that year, that they're doing more right than wrong,” she added.
Bowen shares three sons — Oliver McLanahan, 18, and twins John and Gustav, 16 — with her ex-husband and real estate investor Scott Phillips, according to People.
The couple tied the knot in September 2004 before announcing their separation in February 2018. Their divorce was finalized later that year, per People.
Bowen has shared plenty of candid quotes about motherhood over the past two decades.
In a 2018 interview with People, she said she doesn’t need a lot to be happy as long as her “kids are doing well” — and even though they “occupy so much” of her time, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
But she was also honest about some of the tougher moments of being a parent.
“When my kids are not doing as well or have challenges that I think I can fix, I want to fix it! Yes, I want to teach them to fix it, but really I want to fix it,” she told the outlet at the time.
“Let’s face it, it’s very hard to let them go through those processes on their own and find out how to fail and how to succeed and how to be resilient,” she continued.
Julie Bowen compares motherhood to being ‘dumped by three guys’
During a 2024 appearance on “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna,” Bowen was asked how she gets her teen boys to open up to her.
At the time, she was working away from home and admitted that she mostly talks to her kids through Snapchat photos.
But even when she’s home, getting her kids to open up is just as much of a struggle.
"Basically, I’m in the desert right now. It’s like I got dumped by three guys I was madly in love with," she joked.
"I’m like, ‘Hey, I’m right in the kitchen,’ and they never show up. It’s as desperate as I ever felt in high school when you had a crush on a boy,” she added.
And while she said her sons love supporting her career moves, Julie Bowen’s kids rarely tune in to her projects.
They did, however, watch a little bit of “Modern Family” because she wanted to point out that she was pregnant with her twins while filming the pilot for the show.
"I said to my twins, 'You're in my stomach right there. You're in this episode.' Because I was pregnant with them on the pilot," she said in a 2023 interview with People.

"They thought that was pretty funny and they watched some of it. But in front of me, they will not watch it,” she continued.
