R&B singer KEM is ready for round No. 8.
The 58-year-old “Love Always Wins” singer revealed that he and his wife, Erica Owens, are expecting their fifth child together — and eighth child total — in an interview with People, published Dec. 1.
“Being a husband and a father continues to be the greatest blessing of my life," KEM told the outlet. "Erica and I are looking forward to welcoming another little miracle into our growing family.”

KEM’s wife added that their blended family is already prepared for the new addition.
"Motherhood has been such a meaningful journey for me, and I’m grateful," she told People. "My husband and I are excited for this next chapter. Our family is already full of love for this little blessing.”
The baby news comes less than one month after the couple celebrated their sixth anniversary.
“Still saying I do. Every day, in every way,” KEM wrote in a Nov. 9 Instagram post. “Happy Anniversary to my forever love @djphoenixamora. My wife is amazing.”
It also comes one day after the couple celebrated their son’s eighth birthday.
“Help me wish our first son, music connoisseur and my sous chef, Kristoffer a VERY special birthday!!! We love you!!!” KEM wrote in a Nov. 30 Instagram post.
KEM and Erica Owens tied the knot in 2019
KEM, whose real name is Kim Lamont Owens, met his wife years ago at a meet and greet in Atlanta in 2015, according to a YouTube video where the couple shared their origin story.
Erica was an aspiring disc jockey at the time and KEM had asked for a business card. She, instead, gave him her Instagram and he sent her a direct message later that night.
KEM proposed on the second anniversary of their first date in 2017. They tied the knot two years later, according to People.
The couple went on to welcome four children of their own — joining KEM’s kids (two daughters) and Erica’s one daughter from previous relationships.
On May 1, Erica took to Instagram to share a message one year after giving birth to her fifth child.
“After giving birth to 5 amazing children, I’m balancing life as a wife, running a household, doing what I love through music, studying, in the gym training and staying healthy as a personal trainer,” she wrote.

“I’m 33lbs down from 160 lbs post Ezra. Focused,” she continued. “It brings me joy to be able to inspire people to become the best version of themselves.”
