It was a big day for Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen, despite being apart from each other.
Thomas Rhett might be having a son, after all.
The 35-year-old Grammy-nominated country music singer took to TikTok on Jan. 14 to share a few clips from a recent duck hunting trip he took with his pregnant wife Lauren Akins.
In one clip, his wife couldn’t help but crack a joke about their soon-to-be baby’s gender.
“You know, I just thought it’d be really memorable to take our son hunting for the first time,” Thomas Rhett’s wife said with a shotgun in her hand and ducks quacking in the background.

“I’m assuming it’s a boy,” she joked with a laugh. “That was the gender reveal right there.”
Rhett, who wasn’t sure if she was joking or not, asked if she was serious — and you can hear the hopeful excitement in his voice.
“I’m kidding, I don’t know,” his wife continued. “Giving lots of boy energy after smoking that bird out of the sky. It was like snowing feathers.”
Rhett and Akins, who have been married since October 2012, announced that they’re expecting their fifth child on Aug. 26.
The couple are already parents to Willa Gray, 9, Ada James, 6, Lennon Love, 5, and Lillie Carolina, 3.

Thomas Rhett says he’s waiting until birth to learn baby’s gender

The duck hunting video comes four months after Rhett revealed in an interview with ”Taste of Country Nights” that they plan on waiting until the “day of” the baby’s birth “to figure out what the gender is.”
According to Rhett, this is the first time the couple are waiting to learn their baby’s gender.
"It's terrifying for me, but there's not many surprises left in this world, and I feel that's one that you kinda get to be surprised with, if you choose to,” he said of deciding against a traditional gender reveal.
On Jan. 11, he shared a photo of him wearing pink sunglasses, a pink winter hat and a flower necklace with a blue fairy wand in his hand as he sat in a chair looking at one of his daughters.
“Y’all think this next one is a boy?” he wrote in the caption.
Thomas Rhett’s family first started growing in May 2017 when he and his wife adopted Willa Gray, who was born in Uganda in 2015. Their second daughter, Ada James, joined the family several months later.
